Real Estate Services Specialist I

First-level professional position accountable for conducting technical right-of-way work involving the acquisition of property necessary for construction and maintenance of the state transportation system. At this level, employees may perform duties of average difficulty involving abstract of title, appraisal, relocation assistance, acquisition, property management, environmental, utilities, and communication with local public agencies while employing the property principals, practices, and procedures for professional right-of-way work.  Employees also manage the disposal of excess right-of-way property.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience.

Real Estate Services Specialist II

Second-level professional position accountable for duties of advanced difficulty involving abstract of title, appraisal, relocation assistance, acquisition, property management, environmental issues, utilities, and communication with local public agencies. Employees at this level may review appraisals made by less experienced workers for completeness and compliance with accepted appraisal practices, train and mentor professional staff, and serve as lead workers. Employees also manage the disposal of excess right-of-way property.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Real Estate Services Specialist Team Lead

Supervisory position accountable for overseeing duties involving abstract of title, appraisal, appraisal review, relocation assistance, acquisition, property management, engineering, environmental issues, utilities, and communication with local public agencies. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen. Employees also manage the disposal of excess right-of-way property.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-4+ years of experience.

Real Estate Services Specialist Supervisor

Supervisory/Managerial position accountable for overseeing work involving the management of a Right-of-Way subsection. Employees in positions allocated to this class coordinate and direct on a statewide basis the activities of a section within the Right of Way Division with responsibilities in abstract of title, appraisal, appraisal review, relocation assistance, acquisition, property management, engineering, environmental, utilities, and communication with local public agencies. At this level, employees have authority and accountability for planning and obtaining objectives and for delegating work to others. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Employees also manage the disposal of excess right-of-way property.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience.
