Rehabilitation Specialist I
First-level professional position accountable for conducting vocational assessments of clients’ employment and vocational training needs, interests and abilities, including related interviews to gather information; evaluate information and develop and adapt plans and/or secure and prepare clients for competitive employment, training or activity opportunities; and may train staff in how to instruct areas of work social skills (e.g., attendance, punctuality, safety, rules, procedures, and following instructions). Employees are also responsible for providing guidance and counseling, connecting clients to resources, case management, coordinating services, evaluating training and making recommendations, interviewing clients for eligibility, and/or determining goals based on skills via a career skills assessment.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience.

Rehabilitation Specialist II
Second-level professional position accountable for performing case management activities to include interviewing, counseling, assessing, evaluating, writing vocational rehabilitation plans, teaching, and placing clients in suitable employment. Employees represent the agency and the disabled to the community and public and private agencies; and serve as a resource in the community for creating employment opportunities for the disabled. At this level, employees are required to have knowledge of disabled persons, their physical, social, and emotional limitations and challenges. Employees are also responsible for providing guidance and counseling, connecting clients to resources, case management, coordinating services, evaluating training and making recommendations, interviewing clients for eligibility, and/or determining goals based on skills via a career skills assessment.
Typically requires a Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Rehabilitation Specialist III
Seasoned professional position accountable for performing case management activities to include interviewing, counseling, assessing, evaluating, writing vocational rehabilitation plans, teaching, and placing clients in suitable employment. Employees represent the agency and the disabled to the community and public and private agencies; and are recognized as an expert in the community for creating employment opportunities for the disabled. At this level, employees are required to have knowledge of disabled persons, their physical, social, and emotional limitations and challenges. Jobs at this level may serve as team leads and may direct the work of lower-level employees. Employees are also responsible for providing guidance and counseling, connecting clients to resources, case management, coordinating services, evaluating training and making recommendations, interviewing clients for eligibility, and/or determining goals based on skills via a career skills assessment.
Typically requires a Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience.

Rehabilitation Specialist Team Lead
Employees at this level direct day-to-day vocational rehabilitation activities, including supervision of professional and vocational staff (recruitment; selection; hire; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline) and allocation of funds. At this level, employees interpret applicable State and Federal laws and regulations that guide program policies and procedures. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
Typically requires a Master’s Degree and three years of experience.

Rehabilitation Specialist Supervisor
Supervisory/Managerial position accountable for the oversight of vocational rehabilitation activities of a facility or program. Accountable for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating programs and evaluating the effectiveness of these programs. Develops procedures and administrative policies, and administers program budget.
Typically requires a Master’s Degree, 4+ years of experience, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
