Aircraft Mechanic I

Vocational-level position accountable for performing inspections, making repairs, and performing scheduled maintenance of aircraft. Accountable for diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems, identifying repair procedures, and examining parts for defects and replacing them with new ones.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 1-3 years of experience and possess an F.A.A. Airframe and Power plant Mechanics Certificate.  Candidates must obtain an Inspection Authorization (IA) certification within 18 months of hire.

Aircraft Mechanic II

Supervisory position accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an aircraft maintenance facility and supervision of technicians. Supervision includes the recommendation of selection and hire; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline of assigned staff. At this level, employees are close to the work overseen, requiring knowledge of lower technician responsibilities.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 6+ years of experience and possess a F.A.A. Airframe and Power plant Mechanics Certificate with an Inspection Authorization (IA).
