Vocational Training Instructor I

First-level Vocational training position accountable for assisting in supervising and instructing clients in basic and advanced career or technical occupational or labor skills (e.g. plumbing, welding, carpentry, automotive mechanics, electrical wiring, metalworking, computer repair, food service, cosmetology, etc.). Accountable for preparing reports based on client attendance, performance, progress, and skills assimilation.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and/or relevant certifications/licenses and 0-2 years of experience.

Vocational Training Instructor II

Second-level Vocational training position accountable for supervising and instructing clients in basic and advanced career or technical occupational and labor skills (e.g. plumbing, welding, carpentry, automotive mechanics, electrical wiring, metalworking, computer repair, food service, cosmetology, etc.). Accountable for preparing reports based on client attendance, performance, progress, and skills assimilation. Employees may also assist in the development, planning, and preparation of the course outline and content.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 2+ years of relevant experience/education and/or relevant certifications/licenses.

Vocational Training Instructor III

Third-level seasoned Vocational training position accountable for supervising and instructing clients in complex and advanced career or technical occupational skills (e.g. plumbing, welding, carpentry, automotive mechanics, electrical wiring, metalworking, computer repair, food service, cosmetology, etc.). Accountable for preparing reports based on client attendance, performance, progress, and skills assimilation. Employees may also assist in the development, planning and preparation of the course outline and content.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 3+ years of relevant experience/education and/or relevant certifications/licenses.

Vocational Training Team Lead

Supervisory-level position overseeing trainers in skilled or technical vocations such as building, industrial, or mechanical trades, or business or service occupations to clients in a state facility. Accountable for developing curriculum, planning and preparing course outlines and content, planning for better use of materials and resources, and ensuring adherence of teaching programs to facility goals. At this level, positions supervise lower-level vocational teaching positions. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training oversight; and performance assessment, coaching, and disciplinary recommendations.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 3-4 years of relevant experience and/or relevant certifications/licenses.

Vocational Training Supervisor

Supervisory/managerial position overseeing an education program training skilled or technical vocations such as building, industrial, or mechanical trades, or business or service occupations to clients in a state facility. Accountable for developing curriculum, planning and preparing course outlines and content, planning for better use of materials and resources, and ensuring adherence of teaching programs to facility goals. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training oversight; performance assessment, coaching, and disciplinary recommendations.

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency, 5+ years of relevant experience and/or relevant certifications/licenses, and 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
