This is second-level vocational work with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the acquisition, accountability, assignment, and disposal of property for an institution, department, or agency. Incumbents prepare and maintain records of such property as transportation equipment, construction equipment, furniture and fixtures, tools, parts, and other supplies. The work involves maintaining liaison with various branches of state and federal government.
Typical qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of experience.

Government Asset Specialist
This is professional work in the acquisition, accountability, assignment, maintenance, and disposal of an extensive property inventory for an agency, department, or institution. The incumbent codes property for distribution and designates disposal of damaged or excess property. The work includes overseeing the establishment and maintenance of property records; establishing accountability for property items; conducting an annual inventory; and reporting any inventory discrepancies. The incumbent is also responsible for auditing property which includes physical identification, accurate location, correct description, and inventory reports involved in each audit.
Typical qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4-6 years of experience.

Government Asset Team Leader
This is supervisory, technical, and administrative work in the acquisition, accountability, assignment, maintenance, and disposal of an extensive property inventory for an agency, department, or institution. Incumbents verify purchase and receipt invoices; code materials, supplies and/or equipment for distribution, and designate disposal of damaged or excess property. The incumbent is also responsible for auditing property, which includes physical identification, accurate location, correct description, and inventory reports involved in each audit. The work includes supervising the establishment and maintenance of property records and determining discrepancies.
Typical qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 of experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years of experience.
