Employees are responsible for assisting in project planning, monitoring the operation of program activities, and supervising project goals and objectives. Responsibilities may include assisting in identifying appropriate resources needed; developing project plans, timelines, and accountabilities; and measuring project outcomes. Employees maintain liaison with agency divisions, outside organizations, and the general public.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of experience.

Project Manager II
Second-level Project Management coordinator accountable for developing, administering, and monitoring parts or components of agency projects. Employees are responsible for assisting in project planning, monitoring the operation of program activities, and supervising project goals and objectives. Responsibilities may include assisting in scheduling, reporting, controlling, and evaluating functions associated with projects; monitoring and reporting project spending; and coordinating the activities of the project team. At this level, employees analyze administrative problems and recommend needed regulations, policies, and procedures for the proper administration of projects. Responsibilities may include preparing and administering proposals, contracts, grants, and agreements related to specific programs or projects of the agency. Employees maintain liaison with agency divisions, outside organizations, and the general public.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Project Management Team Leader
First-level Project Management position accountable for managing state projects. Responsible for project planning; overseeing activities of the project team; identifying appropriate resources needed; and developing project plans, timelines, and accountabilities. Must be familiar with project scope and objectives as well as role of each team member. Accountable for developing project deliverables and measuring project outcomes. Frequent interaction with business owners, managers, and other stakeholders.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3-6 years of experience.

Project Management Supervisor
Second-level Project Management accountable for managing projects which are complex in nature, potentially the most complex at an agency level and/or complex at a statewide enterprise level. Responsible for project planning; overseeing activities of the project team; identifying appropriate resources needed; and developing project plans, timelines, and accountabilities. Must be familiar with project scope and objectives as well as role of each team member. Accountable for developing project deliverables and measuring project outcomes. Frequent interaction with business owners, managers, and other stakeholders.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of experience.

Project Management Manager
Third-level Project Management accountable for managing projects which are highly complex in nature and that have a statewide enterprise impact. Due to the nature of these projects, this level of work is likely to be found in the State’s central office or the largest and most complex agencies. The projects managed at this level are the largest in terms of size, scope, complexity, and impact on the State. Projects are typically multi-year and multi-faceted. Responsible for project planning; overseeing activities of the project team; identifying appropriate resources needed; and developing project plans, timelines, and accountabilities. Must be familiar with project scope and objectives as well as role of each team member and/or sub project managers. Accountable for developing project deliverables and measuring project outcomes. Frequent interaction with business owners, managers, and other stakeholders.
