Data Analyst I

First-level Data Management position that is typically involved in assisting in designing and maintaining a database. Assists in the design, testing, and modification of data management applications and controls. Responds to ad hoc report requests that are routine in nature. Executes patch management of databases. Executes low level table management. Conducts low level and routine monitoring of data by users. Runs data analytics tools. Responsible for singular, low risk and low impact tasks.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Data Analyst II

Second-level professional position accountable for applying and using experience in the field of data management to prepare moderate to complex data systems and analysis specifications and install and test data management systems. Conducts data modeling and design services. Tunes database applications for optimal performance. Supports the design of detailed conceptual data models and the translation into outline designs. Migrates data management systems into operational environments while ensuring data security and integrity. May provide technical leadership to first level staff. Runs moderate to complex data analytics tools. Acts with independence and may be accountable for significant portion of a large project or enhancement.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5+ years of IT experience with emphasis in data management.

Data Analyst III

Third-level professional position accountable for developing data management architecture and the design and maintenance of complex organizational data models within the approved architecture. Monitors and identifies trends in data usage and opportunities for the reduction of data usage. Designs, develops, tests and implements complex data management systems. Establishes encryption standards and data recovery systems and processes. Runs complex data analytics tools. Establishes standards in naming conventions. Provides complex technical support in relevant field of discipline. May function as team lead or supervisor of lower-level positions. Mentors less experienced staff.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis in data management.

Data Analyst IV

Fourth-level professional position accountable for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of databases of moderate complexity and risk or impact for assigned organizational areas. May be accountable for multiple databases and data management teams. Manages vendor relations for less complex applications. May serve as project lead or provide supervision and technical direction to lower level team members.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in data management.

Data Analyst Team Lead

Supervisory/Managerial position accountable for the development, enhancement and maintenance of databases at the high end of complexity and high risk or impact for assigned organizational areas. Manages multiple data management teams. Accountable for portfolio management of multiple data management applications. May be accountable for team leaders and lower level of Data Management Managers. Interacts with stakeholders and high level business users. Manages vendor relations.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in data management.
