Information Technology Manager I
Manages the IT business across multiple IT job families with a small number of IT resources (typically fewer than 7 employees). The IT functions managed are less complex in nature than those managed by a level 2 Manager. The incumbent at this level typically oversees the execution of IT plans with the agency and may contribute to IT planning on a larger scale.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 4-7+ years of IT experience in multiple functions. May have had supervisory and/or managerial experience.

Information Technology Manager II
Manages the IT business across multiple IT job families with a relatively small number of IT resources (typically 7-10 employees). The IT functions managed are moderately complex in nature. The incumbent at this level typically oversees the execution of IT plans with the agency and may contribute to IT planning on a larger scale.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8 + years of IT experience in multiple functions. May have had supervisory and/or managerial experience.

Information Technology Manager III
Manages the IT business across multiple IT job families with a moderate number of IT resources (typically 10-25 employees). The IT functions managed are complex in nature. The incumbent at this level typically oversees the execution of IT plans with the agency and may contribute to IT planning on a larger scale.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience in multiple functions. The incumbent will have had IT managerial experience.

Information Technology Manager IV
Manages the IT business across multiple IT job families in the large and complex agencies which have a large number of IT resources (typically 25-50 employees) and/or multiple and complex IT functions. Or, has accountability for managing IT functions in the central IT office that have a statewide impact. The nature of the role is impacted by the size of the IT function managed, the complexity, the budget, the focus of planning and the role the incumbent plays in the planning of IT and the oversight of execution. Interacts with business partners and external vendors.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 10-12+ years of IT experience in multiple functions and IT leadership roles.
