Applications Developer I

First-level Application Development position that is typically involved in standard coding, debugging and modifying existing applications. Conducts standard testing and prepares documentation in accordance with existing standards and practices. Utilizes existing software tools. Works under the direction of a more seasoned Application Development resource or Team Leader. May provide support as member of team for new configurations.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.

Applications Developer II

Second-level professional position accountable for applying and using experience in the field of application development and support to code, test, debug, document, and implement software applications. Performs moderately complex assignments that may require the development of new or improved applications, processes, or techniques. Requires the need to understand client needs and technical requirements in order to determine and implement solutions. May provide technical leadership to first level staff. Acts with independence and may be accountable for significant portion of a large project or enhancement.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support.

Applications Developer III

Third-level professional position accountable for performing complex assignments often requiring the development of new or improved applications, processes or techniques. Is accountable for application security, validation, evaluation and implementation. Works on and solves complex problems where analysis requires in depth evaluation of various factors. Provides complex technical support in relevant field of discipline. May function as team lead or supervisor of lower-level positions. Mentors less experienced staff.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 5-8+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support.

Applications Developer IV

Fourth-level professional position accountable for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of application systems of moderate complexity and risk/impact for assigned organizational areas. May be accountable for multiple applications and application development and support teams. Manages vendor relations for less complex applications. May serve as project lead or provide supervision and technical direction to lower level team members.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 7-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support.

Applications Developer Team Lead

Supervisory/Managerial position accountable for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of application systems at the high end of complexity and high risk or impact for assigned organizational areas. Manages multiple application development and support teams. Accountable for portfolio management of multiple applications. Supervises team leaders and lower level of Application Development and Support Managers. Interacts with stakeholders and high level business users. Manages vendor relations.

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support.
